Helicopter Tours from Queenstown, Including Flights to Mount Cook
Compare helicopter tours from Queenstown for 2026–27: Remarkables landings, glacier flights, Milford Sound and the fly-in days to Mount Cook, with prices.
From Queenstown, book a helicopter flight that starts and ends in Queenstown: a 25-minute Remarkables landing costs NZ$375–395, and a 50-minute glacier landing such as The Helicopter Line’s Southern Glacier Experience (NZ$865; US$477 on GetYourGuide, 5.0/5 from 34 reviews) costs NZ$830–925. Nobody runs a shared helicopter tour from Queenstown to Aoraki/Mount Cook. The all-helicopter trips there are private charters from about NZ$19,995 per helicopter, so most people who want Aoraki from a Queenstown base fly there in a small plane and switch to a helicopter at Mount Cook, for NZ$1,799–1,995 per person.
Prices are per adult in NZD including GST unless stated, checked on operators’ own sites on 1 October 2026 and The Helicopter Line’s on 23 October 2026. Most are valid 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027. Conversions are approximate at NZ$1 ≈ US$0.57 / £0.43 / €0.50, and GetYourGuide and Viator show their own prices in your currency, usually with a markup.

Queenstown’s helicopters fly from the airport at Frankton. You can be standing on the Remarkables ten minutes after take-off, on a glacier in Mt Aspiring National Park in about twenty-five, or on the shore of Milford Sound within the hour. A short flight costs about NZ$15–20 a minute, and the per-minute rate drops only a little on the longer glacier and Milford flights, so pick the flight by where you want to land.
Short helicopter flights in Queenstown: Remarkables & alpine landings (15–40 min)
This is the classic helicopter ride in Queenstown. You climb out of Frankton over Lake Whakatipu and land on the Remarkables, one of only two mountain ranges in the world that run directly north to south, according to GSL. On the ridge you look across to Coronet Peak, Cecil Peak and the Crown Range. In winter you land in snow; in summer, on schist and alpine tundra.

On Viator, the GSL Remarkables flight shows 4.9/5 from 124 reviews (from US$250), The Helicopter Line’s Pilot’s Choice 4.9/5 from 186 reviews (from US$236), its Grand Circle 5.0/5 from 38 reviews (from US$295) and Over The Top’s Queenstown Memories 4.9/5 from 36 reviews (from US$372).
Our pick: GSL The Remarkables at NZ$375. It is 5 minutes longer than Heliworks’ 20-minute flight for NZ$20 less, it has a published child fare, and its price is labelled for 2026–27. If you can be flexible on the time of day, the sunset version (NZ$385 with a drink) costs only NZ$10 more and lands you on the ridge in the evening light.
For nervous first-timers: The Helicopter Line says its new Airbus H130 T2 in Queenstown has a vibration-control system, six individual leather seats and wide windows. Ask whether your flight is in it.
Do Queenstown helicopter flights land on a glacier?
Yes. Four operators sell 45–60-minute glacier or snow-landing flights from Queenstown into Mt Aspiring National Park and the edge of Fiordland. These are the closest you’ll get to a Mount Cook landing without leaving town.
| Flight | Operator | Duration | Where you land | Adult | Child | Private aircraft | NZ$/min |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Glacier Explorer & Earnslaw Burn | GSL | 50 min | Glacier in Mt Aspiring NP; flies the Earnslaw Burn hanging glacier | $830 | $590 | Squirrel from $4,485 | $16.6 |
| Southern Glacier Experience | The Helicopter Line | allow 50 min | Snow landing among Mt Aspiring NP peaks (Viator names the Jura Glacier) | $865 | n/a | $4,325 | $17.3 |
| Glacier Express | Heliworks | 50 min | Remote glacier; site varies with conditions | $895 | $630 (infant $450) | Squirrel $4,475 / H130 $5,370 / BK $7,160 | $17.9 |
| Alpine Snow Landing | Over The Top | allow 45 min | Remote snow landing, engine shut down | $925 | n/a | Squirrel $3,700 / EC130 $4,440 | $20.6 |

| Mt Aspiring & Glacier Discovery | Alpine Helicopters | 60 min | Two landings | $995 | n/a | n/a | $16.6 |
| Earnslaw Burn Picnic | Heliworks | 90 min | Earnslaw Burn picnic landing | from $1,095 | n/a | n/a | $12.2 |
GSL, Heliworks and Over The Top prices are 2026–27 rates. The Helicopter Line’s page has no validity label. Alpine Helicopters’ prices are undated. On booking sites, The Helicopter Line’s Southern Glacier Experience is 5.0/5 from 34 reviews on GetYourGuide (US$477), Over The Top’s Alpine Snow Landing 5.0/5 from 48 reviews on Viator (US$552), and Heliworks’ Earnslaw Burn Express 5.0/5 from only 8 Viator reviews (US$579), so treat that last score as an early read.
The Earnslaw Burn question. The Earnslaw Burn is a valley of waterfalls pouring off a hanging glacier, and it appears in The Lord of the Rings. Heliworks says it is “the only operator with landing rights” there. GSL’s Glacier Explorer & Earnslaw Burn flight goes into the Earnslaw Burn and includes a glacier landing, but it doesn’t promise a landing on the valley floor. If standing beneath those waterfalls matters to you, book Heliworks’ Earnslaw Burn Express or its Earnslaw Burn Picnic.
Seasonality matters. GSL warns that between December and June, changing snow conditions may rule out a glacier landing. If so, your pilot picks another landing near the glacier or at an alpine site. Heliworks says its glacier landings run year-round, but the amount of blue ice varies in the warmer months. For the best chance of a white landing, fly between July and November.
Our pick: GSL Glacier Explorer & Earnslaw Burn at NZ$830 has the lowest per-person glacier price, child fares and the Earnslaw Burn on the route. If you’d rather book on GetYourGuide, The Helicopter Line’s Southern Glacier Experience costs NZ$35 more direct and is also a 50-minute flight. Choose Heliworks’ Glacier Express (NZ$895) if you want blue ice, or its Earnslaw Burn Express (NZ$995) for the waterfall landing.
Milford Sound by helicopter from Queenstown: is it worth it?
For many visitors this is the best helicopter flight from Queenstown. By road, Milford Sound is 288 km away, which RealNZ says takes roughly five hours with one stop in good conditions (it advises six to seven hours in winter). By helicopter it is a short hop over the Southern Alps, Fiordland’s glaciers and lakes to Mitre Peak, which rises 1,692 metres above the Sound, according to Mitre Peak Cruises.
| Flight | Operator | Duration | What’s included | Adult | Child | Private aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

| Milford Sound | GSL | 1.5–2 hrs | Milford landing + alpine/glacier landing | $1,395 | $995 | from $7,535 |
| Milford Sound Express | Heliworks | 75 min | Overflight + alpine landing | $1,395 | $980 | Squirrel $6,975 |
| Milford Sound / Piopiotahi Overflight | The Helicopter Line | allow 90 min | Overflight | $1,395 | n/a | $6,750 |
| Milford + Cruise | GSL | 4 hrs | Heli + Southern Discoveries cruise + alpine landing | $1,495 | $1,095 | from $8,075 |

| Milford Sound / Piopiotahi with Cruise | The Helicopter Line | allow 4 hrs | Air, land and water | $1,695 | n/a | $8,250 |
| Heli-Cruise-Heli Explorer | Heliworks | n/a | Cruise + Earnslaw Burn landing | $1,845 | $1,290 | Squirrel (twin) $12,915 |
| Fiordland’s Finest | Heliworks | 2.5 hrs | 3 landings incl. Earnslaw Burn | $1,995 | n/a | n/a |
| Milford & Fiordland Highlights | Over The Top | 2–2.5 hrs | Two exclusive landings | $2,090 | n/a | Squirrel $8,360 / EC130 $9,995 |
| Heli-Cruise-Heli Ultimate | Heliworks | 5 hrs 15 min | Boutique cruise, lunch, 2 alpine landings | $2,195 | n/a | n/a |
On Viator, GSL’s Milford Sound flight with a landing shows 5.0/5 from 69 reviews (from US$945) and its Milford helicopter-and-cruise day 4.9/5 from 202 reviews (from US$1,009).
Fixed-wing alternative: Air Milford’s Fly / Nature Cruise / Fly starts from NZ$770, but that rate is labelled valid only to 30 September 2026. True South’s Milford Fly-Cruise-Fly starts from NZ$795. A fly-cruise-fly costs roughly half as much as a heli-cruise-heli, but you don’t get a snow landing.
Is it worth it? Yes, if Milford Sound is on your list and you would otherwise spend 8 hours or more on a coach. Choose GSL Milford Sound (NZ$1,395) to stand at the fiord and on a glacier in under 2 hours. Choose GSL Milford + Cruise (NZ$1,495) to get on the water too: it is NZ$160–200 cheaper than the equivalent Heliworks and Helicopter Line products. Fiordland’s weather is wetter and changes faster than Queenstown’s, so leave a spare day.
Can you take a helicopter from Queenstown to Mount Cook?
Yes, but only as a private charter. On 1 October 2026 none of Queenstown’s helicopter operators (The Helicopter Line, Glacier Southern Lakes, Over The Top or Heliworks) sold a per-seat shared helicopter tour from Queenstown to Aoraki/Mount Cook. Every scheduled Queenstown to Mount Cook flight sold per person uses a fixed-wing aircraft for the long leg over the Southern Alps, then a helicopter at Mount Cook for the glacier landing or heli-hike.
Aoraki/Mount Cook Village is about 250 km from Queenstown by road, which The Hermitage puts at just over three hours’ drive. A helicopter return trip means hours of flying at helicopter operating costs, which is why the charters cost five figures. A Cessna Caravan or Kodiak covers the same ground in about an hour each way, with a window seat for everyone.
Some third-party blogs advertise a per-person “Mount Cook Alpine Experience” helicopter flight from Queenstown for NZ$750–1,100. We could not find such a product on any operator’s own website, so treat those figures as unreliable.
For the full breakdown of the fly-in days, the Mount Cook Airport and Lake Tekapo alternatives, and the road tours with a flight built in, see our Mount Cook tours from Queenstown and Mount Cook scenic flights pages.

On booking sites, Glenorchy Air’s Fly | Explore | Fly is listed as Mount Cook Day Trip via Scenic Flight (US$462 on GetYourGuide, 4.9/5 from 33 reviews) and as Mt. Cook Fly Explore Fly on Viator (US$561, 4.9/5 from 58 reviews). True South’s Tasman Glacier Heli-Hike Tour from Queenstown shows 4.9/5 from 83 Viator reviews.
What the route looks like
The fixed-wing flights follow the main spine of the Southern Alps. Glenorchy Air says you get Lake Wānaka and Lake Hāwea on one side and Lake Pukaki on the other. In clear weather you also see the summit ridge of Aoraki, the Tasman Glacier, and the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers dropping to the West Coast. True South’s route also overflies Wānaka, and on the Mount Cook leg it looks east over the Mackenzie Basin canals towards Lake Benmore. Glenorchy Air usually flies home a different way, over the tussock of the Lindis Pass and the shores of Lake Pukaki. On the return, Glenorchy Air’s heli-hike passes the 1,000-metre (3,200-foot) Hochstetter Icefall on Aoraki’s eastern face, the same height Alpine Guides gives for it.
True South sells a Mt Aspiring add-on for NZ$299 per person that adds an overflight of Mt Aspiring, the Snowball glaciers and the Olivine ice plateau.
Which Queenstown → Mount Cook flight should you book?
- You want to stand on snow, and you have half a day: True South’s Helicopter Glacier Landing (from NZ$1,849). It is the only half-day option with a helicopter snow landing, and it runs on demand, which helps with the weather.
- You want to walk on the glacier: Glenorchy Air’s Fly | Heli Hike | Fly (NZ$1,799) is NZ$196 cheaper than True South’s Tasman Glacier Heli Hike (NZ$1,995). True South promises up to 2 hours on the ice. Compare the time on the ice and the group size before booking; our heli-hiking comparison sets them side by side.
- You want Aoraki without the helicopter bill: Glenorchy Air’s Fly | Explore | Fly (NZ$959) gives you about five hours on the ground, enough for the Hooker Valley Track. You can add a flight at Mount Cook if the day is clear.
- Glacier Explorers boat: At NZ$1,149, Glenorchy Air’s Fly | Glacier Explorers | Fly is the most unusual option: you cruise among icebergs on the Tasman terminal lake. It runs in summer only, and the minimum age is 4.
- Money is no object: The Helicopter Line’s NZ$19,995 charter is the lowest-priced all-helicopter way to see Aoraki, Franz Josef and Milford in one day. It costs about NZ$4,500 less than GSL’s Southern Alps Circle and NZ$10,000 less than Over The Top’s West Coast Glacier Explorer.
Is a private helicopter from Queenstown to Mount Cook worth it?
Only if the helicopter itself is the point. The Helicopter Line’s 5-hour charter costs about NZ$67 a minute for the aircraft. Split across six seats (weights permitting), that is still about NZ$3,330 per person. A fixed-wing flight plus a helicopter glacier landing costs NZ$1,849. You get most of the same views, and the snow landing is in the heart of Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. Charters do win on flexibility: no fixed departure time, more landings (beaches, the Franz Josef névé, picnics), and routing that can change with the weather.
Weather and cancellation risk on the long alpine flights
The longer the flight, the more weather it has to cross, and the Main Divide often has cloud on one side when the other is clear. Things to know:
- Weather checks are standard. Glenorchy Air asks you to phone 0800 676 264 one hour before departure for a weather check. Heliworks also asks for a call one hour before departure.
- Partial cancellations hurt. On combination days the plane may fly while the helicopter can’t land. One True South heli-hike customer wrote on Tripadvisor that they paid NZ$1,399 and got only NZ$149 back when weather cut the glacier hike short. A Heliworks heli-cruise-heli customer reported a NZ$200 refund when the cruise was cancelled. Before you book, ask what you get back if each part of the trip doesn’t happen.
- Family groups: Glenorchy Air’s three Mt Cook products use the same flights in and out. If you put your booking IDs in “special requirements”, one person can heli-hike while another explores the village and you all fly home together.
- Minimum numbers: Glenorchy Air’s Fly | Explore | Fly needs at least 2 passengers to confirm. A BookMe listing for True South’s heli-hike says it needs at least 3.
Want the drive or a coach tour instead? Road-based day tours from Queenstown that include a helicopter flight at Mount Cook take about 12 hours. Wildkiwi charges from NZ$589 and Altitude Tours from NZ$729, both with a 25-minute Tasman Taster helicopter flight. Our Mount Cook tours from Queenstown page compares driving, coach tours and flying, and our day trips from Queenstown guide sets Mount Cook against Milford Sound and Glenorchy.

Check the price direct with Over The Top as well. Proposals and celebration flights are covered in depth in our helicopter proposals and special occasions guide.
Heli-hiking near Queenstown: day heli-hikes from Queenstown are mostly fly-to-Mount-Cook or fly-to-Franz-Josef products (above). Locally, The Helicopter Line’s Milford Track Heli Hike is a private charter. For a full comparison of heli-hikes, see our heli-hiking guide.
Winter heli-skiing: Over The Top lists heli-skiing among its Queenstown experiences, and True South sells Mt Cook heliski and Ski the Tasman packages from Queenstown. Heli-skiing is seasonal (roughly July to September) and outside the scope of this guide.
Queenstown helicopter operators compared
| Operator | Base / check-in | Getting there | Strengths | Watch-outs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Glacier Southern Lakes (GSL) | Queenstown Airport heliport (Lucas Place) | Bus transfers from selected pick-ups | Lowest per-person fares in most categories; clear dated 2026–27 rate tables; child fares; LOTR/Hobbit aerial film heritage | A temporary fuel surcharge applied to travel 1 Apr–30 Sep 2026; check whether it carries over |
| The Helicopter Line | 29 Lucas Place, Queenstown Airport | Hotel pick-up on many flights | Formed in 1986; says it is the largest Kiwi-owned helicopter company and the largest scenic-flight provider in NZ (operator claim); widest charter list; new H130 T2 | Allow ~1.5 hrs for check-in, briefing and flight; no validity label on the live price page |
| Heliworks Queenstown | 64 Grant Road, Frankton | Free return transport from 37 Camp Street (book it) | Exclusive Earnslaw Burn landings; Glacier Express; prices valid to 30 Sep 2027 | Shared flights can carry up to 9 (BK); infants pay ($200–450); credit-card surcharge; 50% fee for cancelling within 24 hrs |

| Glenorchy Air (fixed-wing) | Queenstown Airport | Complimentary transfers to the airport available; check in 30 min before if self-driving | Guaranteed window seats; three Mt Cook products on shared flights; NZ$1 per passenger to the Kea Conservation Trust | Web page and rate-sheet prices differ; Glacier Explorers is summer only |
Weight limits and comfort. Every helicopter operator asks for passenger weights when you book, because Civil Aviation Authority rules require weight-and-balance planning. Heliworks says it won’t confirm a booking until it has reviewed those weights. Seating is set by weight, so you can’t choose your seat, and larger passengers may be asked to buy an extra seat. Ask the operator before you pay.
Child and infant pricing differs a lot:
- GSL: children are aged 0–11 and pay a child fare.
- Heliworks: charges infants aged 0–2 (NZ$200 on the Remarkables, NZ$450 on Glacier Express).
- Glenorchy Air: under-2s under 15 kg fly free on Fly | Explore | Fly.
Booking, weather & timing: how to get the flight you paid for
- Book early in your stay. Helicopters fly on demand, but a weather cancellation costs you nothing only if you have spare days to rebook.
- Heliworks: no fee if weather cancels; 50% fee if you cancel within 24 hours; 100% for a no-show.
- Best time of day: morning usually brings calmer air and clearer peaks, especially for the long Milford and Mount Cook flights. GSL’s sunset Remarkables flight is the exception.
- Best season:
- July to November: the most reliable snow and glacier landings.
- December to June: longer days, but glacier landings may be replaced by alpine landings.
- Booking lead time: shared seats on popular departures sell out in summer, and Tripadvisor tags several Queenstown helicopter products “Likely to Sell Out”. Book 1–2 weeks ahead in peak season, and longer for charters.

Should you take your helicopter flight in Queenstown or at Mount Cook?
| Queenstown | Aoraki/Mount Cook | |
|---|---|---|
| Cheapest flight with a landing | NZ$375 (GSL Remarkables) | NZ$379 (Mount Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters’ Tasman Taster, 25 min) |
| Glacier landing price | NZ$830–995 (50–60 min) | The Helicopter Line’s Mountains High NZ$695 (40 min); see our Mount Cook helicopter tours guide |
| Scenery | Lake Whakatipu, the Remarkables, Mt Aspiring glaciers, Fiordland and Milford Sound | NZ’s highest peak (3,724 m), the 23 km Tasman Glacier (New Zealand’s longest, according to DOC), the Hochstetter Icefall, the Main Divide |
| Heli-hiking | Charter only | Tasman Glacier Heli Hike NZ$995 (The Helicopter Line, 3 hrs) |
| Getting there | You’re already there | About 250 km / just over 3 hrs’ drive, or NZ$1,799–1,995 fly-in |
| Weather backup | Many operators and departures | Fewer operators; alpine weather |
Verdict:
- If Aoraki is the dream: go to Mount Cook and fly there. A night at the village plus a 40-minute glacier landing costs less than a fly-in day from Queenstown and gives you more time in the air over the big peaks.
- If you can’t spare the time: True South’s NZ$1,849 Helicopter Glacier Landing is the fly-in to book.
- If you’re only in Queenstown: a Mt Aspiring glacier landing (from NZ$830) or Milford Sound by helicopter (from NZ$1,395) gives you the same thrill in different scenery.

What you might have missed
- Check whether there’s a fuel surcharge. GSL applied a temporary fuel surcharge to bookings travelling 1 April to 30 September 2026. Ask whether any surcharge applies in 2026–27 before you compare prices.
- Infants aren’t always free. Heliworks charges NZ$450 for a 0–2-year-old on Glacier Express, while Glenorchy Air flies infants under 15 kg free. On a family trip that can be a NZ$450 difference.
- Bigger helicopters mean more middle seats. Heliworks’ shared flights can carry up to 9 people in its BK. If window views matter, ask for a Squirrel or H130 departure, or book a charter.
- There’s a card surcharge. Heliworks adds a fee for credit and contactless payments. Paying by EFTPOS or cash avoids it.
- Pick a mixed-activity Mount Cook day. Glenorchy Air flies all three of its Mt Cook products in the same aircraft, so a hiker, a sightseer and a boat-lover can share one day out.
- Remember the Mt Aspiring add-on. True South’s NZ$299 extension adds Mt Aspiring, the Snowball glaciers and the Olivine ice plateau, which makes a Mount Cook flight a two-national-park flight.
- Earnslaw Burn landing rights. Heliworks says it is the only operator allowed to land in the Earnslaw Burn. Other “Earnslaw Burn” flights may only fly through it.
- Book your transfer separately. Heliworks’ free Camp Street shuttle must be booked separately, and Over The Top runs a free shuttle from The Clubhouse. If you forget, you may need a taxi to Frankton.
- Call before you go. Glenorchy Air (0800 676 264) and Heliworks both expect a call about an hour before departure. Set a phone alarm.
- Choose the H130 if you get motion sickness. The Helicopter Line’s new H130 T2 has vibration control. Ask for it if you or your kids get queasy.
- Snow-landing season is the reverse of beach season. Queenstown’s most reliable glacier and snow landings are in winter and spring, so a trip between July and November often gets a better landing than a January one.
FAQ
How much is a helicopter ride in Queenstown? A 20–25-minute Remarkables flight with an alpine landing costs NZ$375–395 per adult in 2026–27. A 50-minute glacier landing costs NZ$830–925, and Milford Sound by helicopter starts at NZ$1,250.
What’s the cheapest helicopter ride in Queenstown? At the operators’ own list prices, the cheapest 2026–27 flights are GSL The Remarkables (NZ$375, 25 min) and Alpine Helicopters’ Southern Lakes Highlight (NZ$375, 20 min). BookMe sometimes sells discounted off-peak seats for less.
Can you take a helicopter from Queenstown to Mount Cook? Only by private charter: from NZ$19,995 per helicopter with The Helicopter Line, or NZ$24,485 with GSL. Shared per-person trips fly fixed-wing to Mount Cook and switch to a helicopter there, for NZ$1,799–1,995.
How long is the flight from Queenstown to Mount Cook? About an hour each way by fixed-wing (Glenorchy Air and True South both quote about 2 hours round trip). True South’s Helicopter Glacier Landing takes about 3.5 hours door to door.
What’s the best helicopter tour in Queenstown? For value, GSL’s Glacier Explorer & Earnslaw Burn (NZ$830). If you only do one big flight, GSL’s Milford Sound flight with landings (NZ$1,395).
Do Queenstown helicopter flights land on a glacier? Yes. GSL, The Helicopter Line, Heliworks and Over The Top all sell 45–60-minute glacier or snow landings in Mt Aspiring National Park. From about December to June, conditions can mean an alpine landing instead.
Is Milford Sound by helicopter from Queenstown worth it? Yes, if you’d otherwise spend 8 hours or more on a coach. A heli-cruise-heli from NZ$1,495 shows you the fiord from the air, from the water and from a snow landing in about 4 hours.
How much does a private helicopter in Queenstown cost? Short private flights start at about NZ$1,975 per helicopter (The Helicopter Line’s Pilot’s Choice and Heliworks’ Remarkables). Private glacier flights cost NZ$3,700–4,485, and Milford Sound charters NZ$6,750–8,360.
What happens if the weather cancels my flight? Operators cancel when it isn’t safe to fly. Heliworks, for example, charges no fee for weather cancellations. On combination trips, ask how much you get back if only one part goes ahead, because refunds for partial cancellations can be small.
Is there a weight limit on Queenstown helicopter tours? You must declare everyone’s weight when booking so the pilot can balance the aircraft. Seats are allocated by weight, and heavier passengers may be asked to buy an extra seat.
Notes on these prices
- True South Flights: the Mt Cook Scenic Flight page text says NZ$895 adult / NZ$735 child, but the page’s price metadata (updated 30 September 2026) and the booking engine show NZ$995. The Helicopter Glacier Landing is NZ$1,849 on the product page, against NZ$1,499–1,599 on older Rezdy listings, and the heli-hike was NZ$1,299 on BookMe against NZ$1,995 now. We use the newest dated figures; confirm at checkout.
- Glenorchy Air: Fly | Explore | Fly is NZ$959 adult / NZ$809 child on Glenorchy Air’s product page, which gives the time at Mount Cook as about 5 hours in its FAQ (its product summary says 6). Glacier Explorers no longer has its own product page, its booking page lists it from NZ$1,149, and winter rates after 30 April 2027 are not yet published.
- The Helicopter Line: the live Queenstown page has no validity label. Its prices on 23 October 2026 were higher than the 2025–26 list: Pilot’s Choice and Panorama NZ$395, Grand Circle NZ$495, Southern Glacier Experience NZ$865 and Milford with Cruise NZ$1,695. Older pages listed the Mount Cook charter at NZ$14,740; the live price is NZ$19,995.
- GSL: the 2026–27 Sunset rate is labelled from 1 June 2026. The glacier-landing caveat window is December to June on GSL’s page, December to May on another GSL listing, and January to June on BookMe. 2026–27 prices for Alpine Scenic, Milford Extended and KJet Remarkables Flyer were not confirmed.
- Over The Top: the Remarkable Discovery page still says “Pricing valid until 30 Sep 2025”, and Queenstown Memories has no validity label.
- Heliworks: prices are labelled valid 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2027, while the same pages say prices change every 1 October. The Earnslaw Burn Express appears at NZ$995 and NZ$920 on different Heliworks pages.
- Alpine Helicopters: prices are undated.
- Reseller figures: BookMe deal prices are snapshots, not guarantees. Viator, GetYourGuide and Tripadvisor “from” prices are in other currencies and often include a markup.
- Refund stories come from individual Tripadvisor and Everything Queenstown reviews. They show the risk but aren’t policy statements.
